We were presented with a teeny, tiny scared little girl who had checked out of life. She constantly rocked herself and did not like to be touched. In the middle of the night, Ray and I had a serious conversation about what our life was going to be like if she never changed. She woke up once in the night with a wet diaper, but went right back to sleep. She slept for 13 hours and only got up when we woke her. We went down to breakfast and tried to feed her some watermelon and scrambled eggs, but she wouldn't have any. It's obvious that she's never had solid foods.
We haven't changed her clothes yet. Maybe we'll try later on today.
She is S-L-O-W-L-Y starting to show her personality. She will tolerate us holding her and we even got a few teeny smiles from her. She seems smart-when I clap my hands and stop, she will take my hands and try to make them clap. When I stick out my tongue at her, she will stick hers out too. She acts MUCH younger than 16 months. She is just so precious!
