"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jer 29:11

She finally cried

I think it's a good thing.

She seemed so mad at me yesterday, but maybe it was just that it was settling in that she wasn't going back to the orphanage.  When we tried to put her in her crib for the night, all she could do was cry.  Ray ended up having her sleep on his chest for several hours before she would go back to her crib.  She didn't want to lay between us on the bed, either.  She seemed comforted only by laying on someone.

It's early morning now, and she is still sleeping. Ray and the big girls are on their way to Hong Kong.  Ray has some business there and the people meeting them are going to take the girls shopping.  Little do they know that my girls hate shopping.  Too bad Erin and Aunt Julie aren't here to help them out!  I'm a bit nervous about being here all by myself all day with the two little ones.  I really have to hand it to a mom in our group.  She's on her own the whole trip!  What a brave woman!

Today is our medical appointment.  We moved it up to accomodate our need for fresh laundry!  We'll drop off our laundry on Shamian Island today and pick it back up on Saturday when we go back to the Island to have the TB test site checked for the older children.  Thankfully, Betsy doesn't have to have any shots since she's under two years. The other children in our group are over two.  We have one family who adopted an 11 year old lovely little girl, another who adopted a two year old boy, and another that adopted a 5 year old little boy.  All of our children seem to be doing all right, considering the circumstances.

That's it for now.  I am going to see how I can navigate the breakfast buffet with my two littles.  Wish me luck!

  1. My boys were the same way after they entered the world. I still remember Jeff and I taking turns laying them on our chest. Such a joy for Betsy Anne who you will have lots of catching up to do. Good thing you have plenty of family members to rotate. She could get mighty spoiled:) Can you bring a 10 year old boy back for me? Sam needs a 'lil playmate:)
